Micro AD OPEN DAY –

Thursday 31st October 2024 (YorkSHIRE)
Askham bryan college – future fuels event

This is a Royal Agricultural Society Event, part of their Farms of the Future programme,  Witness how Biolectric’s biogas system operates on a working farm. You’ll get a firsthand look at how slurry is transformed into renewable energy and how the process integrates with day-to-day farm operations. This real-world demonstration provides insight into how biogas plants function in practice.

This event is a chance to hear from leading experts about the potential for gas fuels including hydrogen (H2) to replace fossil fuels on UK farms.

Askham Bryan College installed a Biolectric system as part of its commitment to sustainability and innovation in agricultural education. By converting farm waste into renewable energy, the system not only reduces methane emissions but also provides the college with a practical, cost-saving solution for energy production. The installation allows students to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge green technology, helping them understand the importance of sustainable farming practices and energy efficiency in real-world settings. This forward-thinking approach reinforces the college’s role as a leader in agricultural education and environmental responsibility.

Monday 4th November 2024 (Somerset) Knott Oak Dairy

Dillington Estate farming activities are spread across the combinable enterprise, which includes winter and spring wheat and barley, oilseed rape, and the dairy enterprise now with ~350 milking cows for which we also grow grass and maize. By spreading their activities across these enterprises we can manage our risk across the vagaries of the different agricultural markets and better maintain our soils and natural resources. The Dairy uses a Lely robotic milking system.

Knott Oak Dairy are proud to be a net zero farming business with a holistic approach to linking food production and environmental benefit. The Farm has a keen focus on utilisation of manures and digestates, reducing our dependency on inorganic fertilisers for crop production

Thursday 7th November 2024 (west Yorkshire)
Beechwood Farm

Farmers should not miss the opportunity to attend the open day at TD Goodalls, Beechwood Farm, to see the Biolectric AD system, which has been successfully operating for over five years.

The farm milks 220 cows via Lely robots and also has a cafe onsite which is powered and heated by the biolectric system.  www.themilkchurn.com

This is a unique chance to witness firsthand how the system has consistently delivered renewable energy and reduced methane emissions for a working farm over the long term. You’ll hear directly from the Goodalls about their experience, the financial benefits they’ve seen through energy savings and additional revenue, and how the technology has seamlessly integrated into their operations. It’s an invaluable opportunity to see proven results in action, get expert advice, and explore whether this sustainable solution could be the right fit for your farm.
